A change in name

So after many months of having no problems with the hostname hydrogen, it appears i have to change my servers hostname so i can get on it!!!

Some reason firefox(and god help me ie is not doing it) somehow thinks i am searching the word hydrogen and heads off to Wikipedia’s page on Hydrogen…So which leads me off to believe if i change my server’s name it all should work, if it doesn’t then im fucked  XD

Oh yeah this blog has a R18 rating for the swearing XD

*Update* OK so changed the server name, and it is now called synergy XD now how to pronounce it will be interesting XD

Just abit of ranting..

OK so as i see it now, the idea of configuring your broadband connection from a “install” CD is just stupid, i mean why the hell would you do it! its just a flash thing with access to web browser it should just be called a “help” CD for all the idiots who don’t know how to configure it…when you can just either 1 of hopefully two ways:

1) Just get a link from telecom to configure your account for the firs time and then configure the modem/router with a few simple pages in the “manual”

2) Get Telecom to give you your user name and a temporary password which can be changed.

May sound very strange and wrong but fuck it!

Just abit of house keeping

Well i am almost ready to head off to Nelson tommorw (Monday) for the rest of this year, and be back on the 2nd of January.

I will be trying to get some pictures on our trip up when possible and when we are there, and hopefully some on the way down.

2009 Christmas Round-Up

Well, its over for another year.

I had a very good Christmas day, although being tired from prevouis night i enjoyed myself all day.

So i will proceed to bore anyone who reads this blog with what my day consisted:

Holidays!

Yeahhhh we had our last lab session for the year at course, so we have two weeks on holiday which one week i will be spending up in nelson and the last week doing course work XD

Did my xmas shopping today (wednesday) and did it in an hour so was good to get out of the shops quickly XD

Right now im playing some Counter-Strike: Source on my local Dedicated Server with bots…yay….

Nearly end of the year

Well its been a crazy year,

First half was devoted to Computer Networking @ Avonmore, and then that finished in April. I had a cool down period of 2 months after being accpeted to Natcoll for Web Development and todo my last two CompTIA Exams, A+ Technician and Network+.

Then July came round and i started out at Natcoll, now in December im still enjoying the course, even though ive got a crap load of work todo in the holidays which im spending a week in Nelson so i’ll be without my computer need to get a laptop =P

Right now, we are doing Flash, im playing around with abit of actionscript and playing wtih FLiNT Particle System for Flash \o/

$18.98NZD for a 2GB Toshiba USB Flash Drive. Worth it, or not?

So after long and careful thought (about a 5minute descision) i went and bought the cheapest USB flash drive i could get my hands on, turns out the cheapest was $19NZD at Dick Smith Electronics…Its a 2GB Toshiba MicroDrive which of course, was made in china \o/.

This was becuase Natcoll (where im studying) is doing a re-ghosting/reformating of all the machines on campus, which included the users partition. And naturally my tutor had to mention me to get a pen drive  in an email he sent to the class earlier today >_< but to my luck, all my data on my users patition fitted on there (just!).

Oh well….

Counter-Terrorists Wins

So on saturday my mate bought me Counter-Strike:Source for steam as it as on 75% off sale for the weekend so it was like $5 USD which was good…

So the last day Ive been playing againsts bots at home till we get broadband which might not happen till next year now due to circumstances, which kinda sucks in a way, been waiting two months for something to be finally done about that so oh well…Sooooooon
